We tend to inertia.

 We tend to inertia,
a curious feature in a species
so dedicated to evolution;
personal and political,
spiritual and sociological.

We read the books and
listen to the podcasts,
share our deep and insightful voices,
happy to illustrate the should-do and
the ought-to-have
while changing nothing at all.

Full of sound and fury signifying nothing
yet we still wonder why
we aren’t feeling
all better by now.

But that would require a change,
an alteration of course beyond the inputs,
some conviction and effort beyond
the vocalization of sincere platitudes,
a challenging road
that’s difficult to start on because
we tend to inertia.

  1. Starting something can be difficult
we tend to be lazy and seek pleasure
we would prefer to be entertained
instead of accomplishment in our leisure
in fact, we can know the value of a man
by its fruits, we can make the measure
because those men that take action
are the ones who can claim the treasure.
