December 2019 was two years ago, and that doesn’t seem right. Are we sure it hasn’t been twenty years? I was recovering from surgery and following stories about wildfires in Australia, never imagining what was to come.

A world buried in smoke was forgotten as a microscopic virus emerged and proceeded to kick our asses, laughing at our claims of superiority.

My dreams about the immediate future disappeared along with a functional healthcare system and civility in society. We’re kind only as long as the toilet paper lasts.
